Savaia assessment reports: understand capability and see progress

Clear feedback for participants. Practical insights for learning teams. Evidence to guide what happens next.

Still life of printed report pages with out-of-focus charts on a desk

Savaia assessment reports help individuals and organisations understand current knowledge and capability, identify development needs and review progress over time.

For participants, reports explain their results and highlight areas to develop. For HR and learning and development teams, group reports reveal shared strengths, common gaps and where support could make the greatest difference.

Reports can support an existing programme or a standalone assessment. You do not need an upcoming workshop or a specific workplace situation to benefit.

What can a Savaia assessment report tell you?

Attendance, completion rates and participant feedback provide useful information about a learning experience. Assessment reports answer different questions:

  • What do people know and understand?
  • What capability have they demonstrated?
  • What should each person work on?
  • Which development needs are shared across the group?
  • What has changed following learning and development?

These insights help organisations make more informed development decisions and help participants understand their next steps.

Individual assessment reports

Knowledge Assessor

What they know

Explores understanding through questions and responses: how someone explains and applies what they have learned.

Two assessment routes

Capability Assessor

What they can do

Gives people a chance to demonstrate practical skills through a workplace simulation or realistic conversation.

An individual assessment report provides feedback following a Savaia assessment.

Depending on the assessment, participants may explain their understanding, describe how they would approach a challenge or demonstrate a skill through a workplace simulation.

A Knowledge Assessor explores what someone knows and how they explain or apply that understanding. A Capability Assessor gives them an opportunity to demonstrate practical skills.

The report brings together their results, including:

  • An overall score
  • Scores against the assessed competencies
  • A summary of strengths and development needs
  • Personalised feedback
  • Guidance for further development

Feedback focuses on the participant’s responses and demonstrated performance, rather than making judgements about their personality.

For example, “Ask further questions to clarify the customer’s main concern” gives someone a practical action to work on.

Team assessment reports

Team report

The group pattern

Average scores, shared strengths and common development gaps that help you decide where support will make the greatest difference.

Both matter

Individual results

Different needs

People in the same group can need different next steps. Avoid giving everyone the same development experience.

A team assessment report brings together results across a group of participants.

It helps HR, L&D teams and programme leaders see the overall pattern while recognising that individuals may have different development needs.

The report can show:

  • Average scores across the group
  • Results by competency
  • Shared strengths and common development gaps
  • Differences between participants
  • Priorities for individual and group development

These insights can help you tailor a programme, focus coaching, adapt workshop activities or plan further support.

A group average is useful, but it is not the whole picture. Looking at individual results alongside the team profile helps you avoid giving everyone the same development experience.

Individual assessment and reassessment reports

First assessment

Where they start

A detailed view of knowledge or capability before coaching, practice or workplace experience.

Same competencies

Reassessment

What has changed

A second view against the same competencies: what improved, what still needs work, and what to focus on next.

Reassessment provides a second view of an individual’s knowledge or capability after a period of development.

This might follow a course, AI coaching, practice, workplace experience or a combination of activities.

An individual assessment and reassessment report compares the two assessments against the same competencies. It helps the participant and learning team understand:

  • How the overall result has changed
  • Which competencies have improved
  • Where further development is needed
  • What to focus on next

This is a detailed development comparison. It is separate from Savaia’s pre/post course knowledge test.

Group pre/post course test reports

Pre/post course test

Knowledge

A short set of knowledge-based questions, aligned to the programme, compared before and after learning.

Different measures

Capability assessment

Performance

A detailed evaluation against competencies, which may include practical demonstrations as well as knowledge.

Savaia’s Pre/Post Assessor is designed to check knowledge and understanding before and after a course, workshop or learning programme.

Instead of a traditional multiple-choice test, participants answer a short set of knowledge-based questions—typically around five—aligned to the programme’s learning objectives.

The group report compares results before and after the programme, showing:

  • Participants’ starting level of knowledge
  • Their results following the programme
  • Changes in individual and group scores
  • Learning areas that may need further reinforcement

This supports evaluation of learning at Kirkpatrick Level 2.

The distinction is important: a pre/post course test measures changes in knowledge and understanding. A detailed capability assessment explores performance against a broader set of competencies and may include practical demonstrations.

From assessment to development

Reports are most useful when they inform what happens next.

A pre-assessment can help identify development priorities. Coaching provides private practice. Post-assessment helps review progress and identify further needs.

  1. Step 1

    Pre-assessment

You find who needs what. Scores, gaps, next steps. One person or a whole cohort.

  2. Step 2

    Coaching

They practise in private. A coach in their language, their situations. You do not get the session.

  3. Step 3

    Post-assessment

Same instrument. Same people. Then you can show what moved.

What improved scores do—and do not—show

An improved score shows

In the assessment

Stronger knowledge or performance against the competencies you chose to measure.

Read scores with care

It does not, on its own, prove

In the workplace

Lasting behaviour change or business results. Use it alongside observation, manager feedback and operational measures.

An improved score shows stronger knowledge or performance within the assessment. It does not, on its own, prove lasting changes in workplace behaviour or business results.

Use assessment results alongside other relevant evidence, such as workplace observations, manager feedback and operational measures.

Savaia reports support development decisions. They are not personality tests or validated hiring scores.

Straight answers

Things people ask.

Are these real client reports?

No. They are illustrative examples showing report formats and the type of information available.

What is the difference between a Knowledge Assessor and a Capability Assessor?

A Knowledge Assessor explores understanding through questions and responses. A Capability Assessor explores practical skills through activities such as workplace simulations or role-play. Both can provide detailed competency feedback.

How is the Pre/Post Assessor different?

The Pre/Post Assessor uses a short set of knowledge-based questions aligned to a course or programme. It checks what participants understand before and after learning, rather than providing a broader capability assessment.

Can we assess people without running a course?

Yes. A standalone assessment can help identify development needs and guide coaching, practice or future learning.

Can we compare results before and after development?

Yes. Reassessment can show changes against the same competencies. For course knowledge testing, the Pre/Post Assessor provides a separate before-and-after view.

Can reports use our own competency framework?

Yes. Assessments, scoring and feedback can be aligned to your framework, learning objectives and organisational requirements.

Can these reports be used for hiring decisions?

Savaia’s development reports are not validated hiring scores. Using an assessment for selection would require a separate validation process.
